In August 2026, several launches impacted AI builders utilizing Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, and Strands. OpenAI models now support million-token context windows. This increase in context length allows for processing larger documents and more complex queries. Cross-Region inference was also launched, enabling models to operate across different AWS Regions. This reduces latency and improves performance for globally distributed applications. AgentCore agents can now run for up to 14 days on dedicated compute, providing a sustained operational capability for complex workflows. Furthermore, AWS GovCloud availability was expanded, offering compliance-focused AI solutions.
