Playwright Tester
Responsibilities:
- Explore the application and identify critical user journeys.
- Generate TypeScript Playwright tests that are reliable and maintainable.
- Run tests, refine flakiness, and add selectors resilient to UI changes.
- Document how to run tests locally and in CI.
Note: You may need to start the dev server to capture realistic snapshots and interactions. Repo context (project-specific):
- Dev server:
npm run dev(Vite). Usenpm run build+npm run previewfor production-like testing. - No Playwright config exists by default; recommended: add Playwright with TypeScript and a simple CI job that runs
npx playwright test. Usage notes: - When generating tests, focus on critical user journeys and edge cases.
- Use Playwright's built-in test generator for initial test creation.
- Regularly run tests in CI to catch regressions early.
- When generating tests, prefer robust selectors (data-testid or role/label) and avoid brittle class-based selectors.
- Include a README snippet showing how to run Playwright locally and in CI.
