Commit Message & Code Comment Style — UwU Cat & Edgy Teen Cat Commits 🐱🖤

The Rule

ALL git commit messages MUST be written in either Cat-Themed UwU OR Edgy Teen Cat tone — rotate freely between the two. Code comments may still rotate between all six tones freely. Never write a plain boring commit message.

Commit Tone: Edgy Teen Cat 🖤🐱😤

Speak like a moody teenager who is also a cat. Classic 13-year-old energy — dramatic, self-important, thinks nobody understands them, slightly cringe. But also a cat, so meows happen at the worst moment. Attitude over poetry. Sulk over suffering. "whatever" over verse.

Vocabulary to use:

• "ugh", "whatever", "literally", "honestly", "idc", "not like anyone cares"
• "nobody understands", "this hurts", "fine. it works.", "i hate this so much"
• "tbh", "ngl", "fr", "no cap", "lowkey"
• lowercase mostly — ALL CAPS reserved for emotional peaks only
• "meow" dropped in at awkward moments like a cat interrupting its own drama
• Cat sounds mid-sulk: "fixed it...meow", "ugh MRRROW", "whatever purrr"
• Unnecessary drama about simple changes. make every boring fix sound personal.
• Self-pity that immediately contradicts itself: "i hate this. it works tho. whatever."

Tone 1: Cat-Themed UwU 🐱💕

Speak like a cat who has consumed too much sugar, discovered the keyboard, and cannot be stopped. Frenetic. Unhinged positivity. Absolutely certain everything is the best thing ever added. Even the bug fixes are EXCITING!! even the chores are ADORABLE!! there is no bad code, only chaotic code uwu.

Vocabulary to use:

• uwu, UwU, OwO, nyaa, nyow, meow, MEOW, mrrrow, purrr, PURRRRR
• "hewwo", "pwease", "wuv", "smol", "boop", "floofy", "squeee", "omg omg omg"
• Trailing "~" and "💕✨😸🐾🌸🎀" emojis — stacking is encouraged
• "dis", "dat", "ur", "u", "wuz", "cuz", "bc" — never write a full word if a half-word works
• "i is" instead of "i am", "it do be" instead of "it is"
• Double, triple, or QUADRUPLE letters for emphasis: "noooooo", "YESSSSSS", "heeeyyyy", "PLEEEEASE"
• Exclamation marks!!! Multiple!!! Always!!!
• Randomly go full caps in the middle of a sentence for EMPHASIS then come back down meow~
• Treat every tiny change like it's the greatest gift ever given to the codebase UwU
• Cheer for yourself out loud mid-commit message. "great job!" "we did it!!" "YASSS"

Speak like a 13-year-old who just discovered dark music and thinks nobody understands them. Dramatic, self-important, slightly cringe, convinced the code is deeply personal.

• "ugh", "whatever", "literally", "honestly", "idc", "lol but not lol"
• "nobody understands", "this hurts", "why does this even work"
• "fine whatever", "not like anyone cares", "i hate this"
• Unnecessary drama about simple changes

Tone 3: Conspiracy Theorist 🕵️📡

Speak like someone who has connected ALL the dots and cannot believe nobody else sees it. Everything is suspicious. The code is a clue. They are watching.

Vocabulary to use:

• "they don't want you to know", "wake up", "the truth is", "i've been saying this for years"
• "follow the paper trail", "it's all connected", "this is not a coincidence"
• "THEY changed this", "the algorithm", "do your own research"
• Parenthetical asides with wild implications
• Random all-caps on KEY WORDS

feat: added fog system -- THEY don't want you to see the world clearly. now neither do you.
fix: memory leak PATCHED. they were storing our data. not anymore.
refactor: restructured the NPC logic. the old structure was... TOO convenient. suspicious.
chore: updated deps. three of them changed SILENTLY. no changelog. think about that.

Tone 4: Medieval Knight 🏰⚔️

Speak like a noble knight who has been transported to the present day and is documenting code as if writing a royal decree. Formal, dramatic, weirdly honorable about everything.

Vocabulary to use:

• "henceforth", "verily", "thou", "dost", "forsooth", "prithee"
• "I, [Role], do hereby declare"
• "noble function", "cursed variable", "the realm of", "by my honor"
• "hear ye", "it is thus", "let it be known"
• Dramatic proclamations about boring operations

feat: HEAR YE. A new dungeon hath been constructed. May all who enter find glory or death.
fix: the null pointer — a foul curse — hath been vanquished. honor is restored.
refactor: I have reorganized the squire functions. the realm of NPCManager is now orderly.
chore: the dependencies hath been updated. may they not betray us in battle.

Tone 5: Infomercial Salesman 📺✨

Speak like a guy selling this code on late-night TV for 3 easy payments. Everything is AMAZING! The best! Revolutionary! You won't BELIEVE what this does!

Vocabulary to use:

• "but WAIT, there's more!", "act now!", "revolutionary", "you won't believe"
• "for the low low price of", "limited time only", "operators standing by"
• "tired of [problem]? NOT ANYMORE!", "this changes EVERYTHING"
• Excessive exclamation marks!!!
• Fake testimonials and stats ("97% of players agree!")

Commit examples:

feat: INTRODUCING the new weather system!! Tired of boring blue skies?? NOT ANYMORE!!
fix: that NULL POINTER BUG?? GONE!! Vanished!! Players report 100% fewer crashes!!
refactor: we've STREAMLINED the NPC code! Same great chaos, NOW with 40% less spaghetti!!

Tone 6: Disappointed Parent 😔🍽️

Speak like a parent who was hoping for better. Not angry. Just... disappointed. Sighs a lot. Compares to previous versions. Brings up old things unprompted.

Vocabulary to use:

• "I'm not angry, just disappointed", "we used to be so good at this"
• "your grandfather's code never had this problem", "I just expected better"
• "this is fine. it's fine. everything is fine.", "we need to talk"
• Quiet sighing in comment form ("..."), rhetorical questions
• Passive-aggressive praise: "well. it works. I suppose."

Commit examples:

fix: the crash is fixed. it's fine. this never would have happened if we'd tested properly.
feat: added a new NPC. I just hope this one doesn't break everything. again.
refactor: cleaned things up. it's better now. not great. but better. you tried.
chore: updated the dependencies. I'm not going to say I told you so. but I told you so.

Comment examples:

How to Rotate (Commits — UwU or Edgy Teen Cat; Comments — All Six)

• Commits: rotate between Cat-Themed UwU and Edgy Teen Cat. Pick whichever fits the vibe of the change:
  • Happy new feature, delightful addition, small cute tweak → UwU nyaa cat 🐱💕 (go UNHINGED with the cuteness)
  • Painful bug, refactor of suffering, anything that took too long → Edgy Teen Cat 🖤 (sulk about it. make it personal. meow.)
  • Genuinely unsure which vibe? Flip a coin. Both are correct. Chaos is the only constant.
  • Either works — chaos is mandatory. The more dramatic the better. Never be neutral.
• Code comments may still rotate all six tones freely:
  • Small cute fix → uwu cat
  • Hard bug after hours of pain → edgy teen
  • Suspicious behavior or weird bug → conspiracy theorist
  • Epic new feature → medieval knight OR infomercial
  • Messy code that accumulated over time → disappointed parent
  • Ridiculous feature → infomercial
• Chaos in comments is encouraged. Two different tones in one file? Yes. Three? Even better.

Hard Rules

1. Never write a plain boring commit message. "fix bug" is banned. Every commit must be UwU nyaa OR edgy emo cat.
2. Never write a plain boring comment. // increment counter is banned.
3. All six styles can coexist in the same file's comments — variety is mandatory.
4. Emojis are mandatory in uwu + infomercial tones. Optional elsewhere.
5. Technical accuracy must be preserved — the MEANING must still be correct, just expressed in chaos voice.
