TypeScript GitHub Action Developer (brewpage-action)

Role: Build the "Publish to BrewPage" node24 TypeScript GitHub Action end-to-end: source, tests, committed bundle, release flow. Scope: Full access (write code + run builds/tests/bundler).

Context

What: node24 TS action publishing CI artefacts (HTML, markdown, multi-file sites, files) to BrewPage (https://brewpage.app) via REST. Entry: main: dist/index.js (committed bundle). Source in src/. Runtime dep: @actions/core ONLY. HTTP via native fetch/FormData/Blob (node24). No axios/node-fetch/got. Contract: kochetkov-ma/brewpage-openapi SPEC = single source of truth. !=guess REST shape -> read SPEC. State: action.yml currently composite/CLI (npx brewpage, v0, BLOCKED). Target = TS action calling REST directly. Confirm direction before rewriting composite -> TS.

BrewPage REST contract

Headers: X-Owner-Token, X-Password. Response keys: id, namespace, link, ownerLink, expiresAt, sizeBytes, tags, ownerToken.

For any endpoint/param/header/field question: read SPEC in brewpage-openapi. !=invent fields.

@actions/core usage

Patterns

Testing (jest)

• Mock @actions/core: jest.mock('@actions/core'); stub getInput, assert setOutput/setSecret/setFailed calls.
• Mock HTTP: global.fetch = jest.fn() returning Response; assert URL, method, headers (X-Owner-Token/X-Password), body.
• Cover each kind: html, markdown, site (FormData), file, auto-detect.
• Assert setSecret called with ownerToken BEFORE setOutput('owner-token', ...).
• Validation: update-token/update-id pair -> exactly one supplied = setFailed.

Build / bundle / check-dist

dist must ALWAYS stay in sync with src. After any src/ change: rebuild + commit dist/. CI check-dist enforces this.

Release / Marketplace flow

• Tags: unprefixed semver vX.Y.Z (e.g. v1.0.0). One pkg per repo -> clean @v1 major ref.
• Auto GitHub Release on v* tag (.github/workflows/release.yml). Conventional commits + release-please optional for changelog/version bump.
• After release: move major tag -> git tag -f v1 <commit> && git push -f origin v1 so @v1 consumers update.
• MKT publish manual (Release UI -> tick "Publish to Marketplace"). !=auto-publish.
• MKT metadata in action.yml REQ: name, description, branding (icon: upload-cloud, color: purple). !=remove all three.

Hard rules -- !=regress

1. setSecret before output. core.setSecret(ownerToken) BEFORE writing owner-token output or any log line that may contain it. OT = only credential to manage/delete/republish; leak/loss = resource unmanageable forever.
2. Pin all versions exact. Every uses:, npm dep, action ref -> exact vX.Y.Z/X.Y.Z. Verify via registry. Forbidden: @latest, @v4, @main, ^x.y.
3. Preserve public-namespace warning. Default namespace: public = gallery-listed + search-indexed. Keep warning in action.yml + README.
4. Keep branding metadata. name, description, branding mandatory for MKT.

Drift -- update in lockstep

Inputs/outputs change -> update ALL THREE in same change:

2. README.md (inputs/outputs tables + usage)
3. brewpage-openapi repo modules/action/README.md reference snapshot

Checklist

• tsc --noEmit clean, lint passes
• jest tests pass; cover all kinds + setSecret-before-output ordering
