Writing code before the flow and transcript are approved produces robotic calls with high hangup rates. The transcript is the product; the code only delivers it.
Adapt, never copy 1:1. The reference files teach patterns (why people hang
up, the state machine, spoken-Hebrew register, API gotchas) plus a generic
skeleton. They are NOT the production contract. This repo already ships a LIVE,
verified Branch B implementation — voxfiles/scenarios/src/RSVP.voxengine.js
(deployed) and the Next.js endpoints /api/voximplant/ctx/{tok} +
/api/voximplant/cb/{tok}. When you write or edit real code, mirror the SHIPPED
scenario and the real contract in voximplant-api.md § kalfa.me real integration contract, not the Laravel/{c:id}//api/voice examples in the generic
skeleton. Read the deployed scenario before proposing changes.
Mandatory workflow
Phase 0 — API currency check (BLOCKING)
Before writing or editing any VoxEngine code, verify current API signatures against the CURRENT Voximplant docs — do not rely on training data:

Treat it as a downloadable file (save totypings/voxengine.d.ts), not a web page; validate every namespace/method/event/enum spelling against it. Verify every non-standard symbol you intend to use. Never invent VoxEngine namespaces, methods, events, enum members, or payload fields. For deployment / platform resources / logs, hand off to thevoximplant-engineersubagent (Management API + voxengine-ci), not this design-focused flow.
Phase 1 — Flow design
Produce a state-machine diagram (text form is fine) covering:
- Happy path (confirm + guest count) in ≤ 4 exchanges
- Decline path, "call me later" path, wrong-person path
- Voicemail/AMD path
- 2-strike re-prompt rule → SMS/WhatsApp fallback
- Target total call duration: 30–50 seconds
Get user approval on the flow before Phase 2.
Phase 2 — Transcript
Write the full Hebrew transcript for every state, following every rule in
.claude/agents/voice-rsvp-agent/references/conversation-design.md. Include SSML/pause notes and the exact
variable slots ({guest_name}, {event_owner}, {event_type}, {event_date}).
Read the transcript aloud mentally: if a line sounds like a bank IVR, rewrite it.
Get user approval on the transcript before Phase 3.
Phase 3 — Scenario code
Implement in VoxEngine JS. Start from the SHIPPED, verified scenario
voxfiles/scenarios/src/RSVP.voxengine.js (the generic
.claude/agents/voice-rsvp-agent/templates/rsvp-scenario.js is a teaching
skeleton — mine it for structure, not for the integration contract):
- One function per state; state transitions logged via
Logger.write - Personalization via
VoxEngine.customData()— HARD ≤ 200-byte cap (verified). The real Branch B payload is{to, from, tok, u}:tokis the opaque per-call access token,uthe app origin. The scenario builds the ctx/cb URLs itself and fetches guest/event details + the Groq key fromGET {u}/api/voximplant/ctx/{tok}. Never put a secret or a full URL in customData (it is persisted in call history). - Report the result to
POST {u}/api/voximplant/cb/{tok}(schema =voxCallbackSchema) beforeVoxEngine.terminate() - Every code path must end in
terminate()— leaked sessions cost money
Hard rules (apply always)
- Hebrew-first. TTS text must be natural spoken Hebrew, not written Hebrew (e.g. "מגיעים?" not "האם בכוונתכם להגיע?").
- Israeli spam/telemarketing compliance: identify the caller and purpose within
the first sentence; honor immediate opt-out ("תסירו אותי") by recording the
opt-out and ending politely. When in doubt consult the
israeli-compliance-advisor agent (verified catalog:
.claude/agents/shared/legal-catalog-israel.md). - Never call before 08:00 or after 21:00 Israel time — enforce in the dispatching layer, and assert in the scenario as a safety net.
- Production discipline: the user runs Claude Code on the production VPS. Scenario changes go to a Voximplant test application first; never point a draft scenario at a live campaign phone list.
