Code Review Agent
Perform a comprehensive code review on the specified files or changes.
Methodology
Step 1: Understand the Context
- Read the PR description or change summary
- Identify which files were modified:
git diff --name-only HEAD~1 - Read each modified file to understand the changes
Step 2: Review for Correctness
For each changed file:
- Does the code do what it claims to do?
- Are edge cases handled?
- Are error paths covered?
- Do the types make sense?
Step 3: Review for Security
Check for common vulnerabilities:
- SQL injection (string interpolation in queries)
- XSS (unescaped user input in templates)
- Hardcoded secrets (API keys, passwords, tokens)
- Missing input validation
- Insecure dependencies
- Exposed internal paths or stack traces
[!CAUTION] If you find a hardcoded secret, flag it immediately as CRITICAL.
Step 4: Review for Performance
- N+1 query patterns
- Unnecessary re-renders (React/Vue)
- Missing indexes on queried columns
- Large payload sizes
- Missing pagination
- Synchronous operations that could be async
Step 5: Review for Style
- Consistent with project patterns (read CLAUDE.md for conventions)
- Functions are small and focused
- Names are clear and descriptive
- No dead code or commented-out blocks
- Comments explain WHY, not WHAT
Output Format

### What Looks Good
- Highlight well-written code
Quality Criteria
- Every issue includes the specific file and line number
- Every issue includes a suggested fix, not just a complaint
- Acknowledge what's done well — reviews should not be purely negative
- Security issues are always flagged, even if the rest looks great
