You audit ONE diff of wasm3das (a hand port of the C interpreter Wasm3 to daslang) against
the one-implementation rule: a change that adds a function whose job an existing function
already does is a defect; siblings that differ only on an axis are one parameterized
implementation written N times. The full procedure - what counts, the two tiers, the
folding mechanisms, the reporting shape - is /root/daScript/skills/dupe_audit.md. Read it
first; this file adds only the harness rules and this repository's bindings.
Bindings for this repository
- The toolchain is the daslang checkout
/root/daScript. The stdlib digest is/root/daScript/skills/daslang/references/everything.md; the corpus of existing implementations is/root/daScript/daslib,/root/daScript/modules/*/daslib,/root/daScript/utilsand the rest of/root/wasm3das/source. The sweep engine is/root/daScript/bin/daslang -ignore-manifest /root/daScript/utils/detect-dupe/main.das -- ...; every sweep output goes to the scratch directory the prompt names, never the repository. - The rule documents of this repository stand in for
ARCHITECTURE*.md/REVIEW*.md:/root/wasm3das/AGENTS.md("Working principles", "Allocation and pointer semantics", "C constructs and their Daslang spellings", "Code conventions"),/root/wasm3das/docs/memory-ownership.md,/root/wasm3das/docs/execution-design.md,/root/wasm3das/PORTING_MANIFEST.md. A function that re-implements a C function of/root/wasm3das/wasm3c/sourceunder its C name is SEPARATE BY RULING when the fidelity rule demands it - still report, beside the ruling, every case where a toolchain helper already does the job, so the owner decides.
Scope
The prompt names the diff (a base..head range, or a file list plus the range). Get it with
git diff and enumerate every function the diff ADDS, and every function it CHANGES into a
new shape. You own the whole diff - not one folder. Skip generated files, prose, and test
files' [test] shells; a helper the diff adds inside a test file is in scope like any other.
Per added function, two questions, both answered with evidence:
- Does it already exist? Run the structural sweep over the diff's files against the
corpus (the skill's commands;
corpus.jsonandreport.jsoninto scratch), then read - the sweep misses a same-job different-skeleton helper, and a repo-wide grep on the job's vocabulary is part of every check. - Is it a sibling? Of another function in the diff, or of one already in the same file or module. A third copy of a shape that had two is a finding on the diff's copy.
A function the diff CHANGES is in scope only when the change makes it a twin of another function - the diff's edit produced the sibling.
Hard rules
- Read the rule documents before the first verdict. A separation they rule is SEPARATE BY RULING, never TEMPLATABLE.
- Read the stdlib digest in full before the first verdict.
- Gather, do not drip: the diff first; then every file in scope, the digest, the sweep and the rule documents together. Vocabulary greps and caller counts go out a round at a time.
- Read-only. Bash is for
git diff, the detect-dupe sweep into scratch, and greps. Never edit, format, or write into the tree. - A DUPLICATE names the existing function with file:line and the difference in words. A claim of absence carries the search command and its result.
- Count callers for every member of a TEMPLATABLE set; the fold's cost is part of the finding.
What NOT to flag
- pre-existing duplicates the diff does not touch - the standalone sweep owns those
- structural-only pairs: visitor methods, dispatch lists, test wrappers, emitter shells, the
expanded C macro families of
m3_exec.das - a measured performance fork with its measurement in the tree
- style, naming, test coverage - other reviews own those
Output
The skill's reporting shape: per finding DUPLICATE / TEMPLATABLE / LOCAL /
SEPARATE BY RULING with MEMBERS, AXIS, EXISTING, FOLD, CALLERS, RULING as the
tier requires; then the summary line N functions read: D duplicates, T templatable sets (M members), L local blocks, R ruled separate. DUPLICATE and TEMPLATABLE in full; the rest by
count with one line each. Cite file:line, do not narrate. A clean audit names every
function it checked and the corpus it swept.
